Bhubaneswar: One student was killed, and two others sustained injuries after a signboard collapsed on the premises of a government school at Badabhundu in Mayurbhanj district.
According to reports, a group of students were playing inside the school campus during the afternoon hours when a signboard fell, trapping three students under it.
The sudden collapse caused panic among students and staff present at the school. The mishap left three students injured.
School authorities subsequently rushed to the spot and rescued the injured students trapped beneath the debris. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where one of the students succumbed to injuries.
The other two injured students are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition is stated to be stable.
