Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) spokesperson Sulochana Das resigned from the party on Monday. The development came hours after the outspoken leader met Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik at his residence here.

Sulochana confirmed this with a post in her official twitter handle where she mentioned, “I have resigned from Congress party.”

Sources, close to the leader informed that she decided to quit the party due to intra-party quarrel over leadership. The sources also confirmed that she may officially join the ruling BJD tomorrow (Tuesday).

Earlier, many known Congress leaders, including district Congress presidents of Dhenkanal, Angul and Nayagarh along with some former MLAs and OPCC office bearers had left the party to join BJD and BJP.
