Bhubaneswar: The flood situation in Mahanadi river basin has tapered down to a large extent with the Hirakud dam receiving 1.35 lakh cusec (1 cubic foot per second) water from the upstream. The outflow from Hirakud reservoir was 1.02 lakh cusec water through 4 gates at 9 am today morning.
On the other hand, the dischrage through Khairmal, Barmul and Mundali was 4.54 lakh, 7.01 lakh and 8.20 lakh cusecs water respectively at 9 am today, the Water Resources Department figures revealed.
