Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, Kendrapada Police rescued 38 missing women and girls, including 22 minors, during a three-day operation conducted from January 21 to January 23, 2026, under ‘Operation Anweshan-II’.
The state-wide initiative, spearheaded by the Crime Against Women & Children (CAW&C) Wing of Odisha Police, aims to trace and rescue missing women and children and reunite them with their families. The operation involves coordinated search efforts across districts, targeting both rural and urban areas.
During the operation in Kendrapada district, one minor girl was rescued from Kendrapada Town Police Station area, one from Kudanagari, and another from Tantiapal Marine Police Station area. Pattamundai Model and Pattamundai Rural Police Station areas accounted for 14 rescued girls, while three were traced in Aul Police Station area and two in Rajanagar Police Station area. In total, 22 minor girls were rescued.
In addition, 16 women were also recovered from different locations across the district.
