Patnagarh (Bolangir): In a fresh crackdown under Operation Prahar, aimed at making Odisha drug-free, Patnagarh police seized 110 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup and arrested two persons for their involvement in the illegal trade of narcotic substances.
Acting on intelligence inputs and directives from the Bolangir Superintendent of Police, a police team intercepted two motorcycles near Kutumunda Chhak during a patrol. A search led to the recovery of a sack containing 110 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup, along with two mobile phones.
The accused have been identified as Dhananjay Sahu of Talpali village and Jitu Sahu of Gaisilat village, both under Gaisilat police station limits in Bargarh district. Police said the seized consignment was being transported for illicit sale.
