**Bhubaneswar:** Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi on Saturday issued instructions to ensure that the Early Warning Dissemination System (EWDS) being implemented in 6 coastal districts and the State headquarters is fully commissioned and operational with effect from 29th of October.
The deadline was set by the high level meeting held recently. EWDS is being implemented under the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project.The Executant (L&T) has committed to complete the project in all respects by the above scheduled date.
A team led by Deputy Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra has been constituted to monitor the progress of work and facilitate smooth implementation of the project within the scheduled dateline.
District Project Officer (DPO) of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) in the concerned districts will visit the sites and facilitate smooth conduct of Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).
The DPO will try to sort out all local problems in coordination with BDO, Nodal Officer, District Emergency Officer, Additional District Magistrate, or Officers of other Departments, as the case may be. Vehicle for tour shall be provided by OSDMA.
The Community Mobilisers of OSDMA shall also be involved and assist in the work in their respective area.
And finally, the Additional District Magistrate has been instructed to monitor the entire exercise.
