Bhubaneswar: Pratap Kumar Samal, the suspended Deputy Manager of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) who had been arrested by Odisha Vigilance on charges of possessing disproportionate assets, was sent on compulsory retirement today.
Odisha Vigilance had recently conducted raids on the houses and properties associated with Samal and found Pratap him in possession of assets worth Rs 14.87 crore, 1021% more than his legitimate sources of income.
It is worthwhile to mention that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has continued his efforts to maintain integrity and morality in public life and to provide services to the people through a transparent, efficient, and accountable administration.
He has always stressed the importance of transparency in the administrative system. According to the Chief Minister, the state government has taken a zero-tolerance policy against corrupt and incompetent officials.
In this context, the State Government today sent Pratap Kumar Samal on compulsory retirement due to incompetence and corruption. With this, around 131 officials have been awarded compulsory retirement by the State Government till date.
