Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday said that he felt hurt over the foul language and falsehood spread against him and his party by leaders of several Opposition parties, especially those coming to campaign for their party candidates in the state from outside.
In a video message to the people of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik said, “Many Opposition leaders coming to the state from outside are targetting me using foul language and saying things against me that are not true. I have been serving the 4.5 crore people of Odisha all these years and I am sure that they will give a befitting reply to these leaders in the June 1 elections for the Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies in the state.”
“I have never used foul language against anyone or humiliated anyone. I have stood beside you in all good and bad times. Be it the Covid-19 pandemic, ravages caused by cyclones, or floods, I have always been with you. The Mission Shakti programme launched by my government has empowered women; while our government’s other welfare schemes have benefitted the farmers and the youth. They will lead our state to prosperity.”
“Now, political leaders from other parties are discrediting us. Worse, they are resorting to slander. I know that the people of Odisha cannot tolerate this insult and will teach them a lesson this time,” the BJD supremo said.
“I have worked for the development of Odisha all these years and have promised to make our state the No. 1 state in the country if you elect us to power once again. The blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath are always with us and He will bless us this time too,” the Chief Minister said.
