Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) and the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) have acknowledged errors in the question papers of competitive examinations held on April 27, 2025. Both commissions have outlined corrective measures and the next steps to address the mistakes.

The OPSC issued a notice regarding the Anthropology Optional Paper-II exam, where it was discovered that the Question-cum-Answer Booklet contained questions from the syllabus of Anthropology Paper-I, instead of Paper-II.

“… all candidates appearing for the Anthropology Optional Papers, after the opening of the Question-cum-Answer Booklet Packets of Anthropology Optional Paper-II in the Examination Halls during the second session on 27.04.2025, the written examination for Anthropology Optional Paper-II shall continue as planned. The concerned candidates have already been instructed to appear for the Optional Paper, as the Question-cum-Answer Booklet of Anthropology Paper-II contains questions from the syllabus of Anthropology Paper-I,” the notification stated.

Similarly, the OSSC issued a notice regarding the Combined Recruitment Examination for various posts. The commission explained that some sections of the syllabus, including General English, Odia Language, and parts of General Studies, were omitted from the exam paper.

“The commission is aware that questions from some parts of the syllabus were not included in the question paper of the Main Examination of the Combined Recruitment Examination for different posts, which included the Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test-2024 held today (27.04.2025),” the OSSC statement read.

“The commission acknowledges and regrets the error and is committed to taking remedial measures. The commission is considering the option of holding another examination to cover the omitted sections, i.e., General English, Odia Language, and parts of General Studies.”

To address these issues, the OSSC has invited those who appeared in the examination to submit suggestions regarding remedial measures via email before May 4, 2025.

“Examinees who appeared in the examination are encouraged to send their suggestions for remedial measures by email to ossc.od@nic.in before May 4, 2025,” the OSSC notification concluded.
