Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) responsible for the recruitment of candidates for various Odisha government jobs through competitive examinations has said that it has constituted its new examination zone at Jeypore in Koraput district.
A notification issued by the OPSC on Monday read, “It is for the information of all concerned that the Commission has decided to constitute another examination zone at Jeypore in Koraput district in addition to existing five zones at Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur for conducting various written examination.”
It is worth mentioning here that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during his meeting with the officials of the two state recruitment commissions of the state – Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) and the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) – January 1, 2025 had directed to set up a new examination zone at Jeypore of Koraput district.
Following the direction of the Chief Minister, the OPSC constituted the examination zone at Jeypore. The decision of the OPSC will benefit thousands of candidates from the southern regions of the state who had to travel long distances to appear for the written exams of different government jobs conducted by the Commission.
