Cuttack: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued a public alert, cautioning job aspirants about fake selection letters and fraudulent recruitment advertisements being circulated by scammers. The Commission has urged candidates to report such incidents immediately.
In an advisory posted on its official website, OPSC revealed that fraudulent advertisements, claiming to offer recruitment opportunities under its name, have been appearing on social media platforms. These ads often include links to deposit application fees, potentially deceiving unsuspecting candidates.
The Commission clarified that the General Administration and Public Grievance Department has exempted all categories of candidates from paying application fees, and OPSC’s official online application portal, e-Chayan, does not have any provision for fee collection.
Reassuring the public about its hiring practices, OPSC emphasized its adherence to a transparent, merit-based recruitment process. The Commission advised candidates to be cautious of misleading advertisements and to disregard any false promises of selection made by unscrupulous elements.
“If you come across such bogus advertisements or notices, please inform us immediately for corrective measures,” OPSC stated. Candidates can contact the Commission through its toll-free numbers 0671-2304090 and 0671-2301107 or via email.
