Bhubaneswar: The election process for the BJP state president and national members in Odisha is set to begin tomorrow and will continue for three days. The organisational process of the state is expected to be completed by July 1. Bihar MP Sanjay Jaiswal has been appointed as an observer to oversee the election process.
According to BJP state election officer and Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi, the election process will be conducted smoothly. The selection of the new state president has been delayed, with the previous announcement of the name being made before March 31 not materialising.
BJP State in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar had earlier stated that the BJP national leadership would take a decision on the state president’s appointment soon. Meanwhile, the process for appointing chairmen of various boards and corporations has also begun, with their names expected to be announced in due course.
The upcoming organisational changes in the Odisha BJP are expected to bring about a shake-up, potentially affecting positions from the Mandal president to the state president.
