Orientation Programme For 145 Newly-Recruited Odisha Civil Servants Begins

**Bhubaneswar: ** The Orientation Programme for the 145 newly- recruited State Civil Servants began at Odisha’s capital city here. The inaugural day was graced and addressed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera and Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty.

Prominent among others on the dais was Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.

The Orientation Programme was organized by Odisha Government’s General Administration & Public Grievance Department.

In his media reactions after the special programme of the day, Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty said, “145 fresh recruits of Odisha Civil Services are joining duty today. For them, this Orientation Programme has been started. Hope they will deliver their services to the public as per the norms and programmes implemented by the State Government. Even they will be accountable to the State Administration for their omission and commission.”

As per a press note released on the day, “The 145 successful candidates include 47 women, 3 PwDs and 1 Sports person. The Revenue & Disaster Management Department are appointing 100 officers in OAS cadre and the Finance Department and the Home Department are appointing 31 OFS and 14 OPS officers respectively.”

“On joining of the officers, they will be put to institutional and field training as per curriculum of the respective Departments shortly. The institutional training will be imparted Gopabandhu Academy of Administration for OAS, Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management for the OFS and Biju Patnaik State Police Academy for OPS officers,” the press note stated.

The press note also stated that the recruitment of officers under Odisha Civil Services is being regularly conducted from 2015 onwards, annually, on time, through the OPSC (Odisha Public Service Commission).

Notably, the Odisha Civil Services Examinations-2016 with respect to the advertisement of OPSC on 06.06.2016 was conducted to recruit 145 officers, i.e. 100 in OAS, 31 in OFS, 14 in OPS cadre.

The interview for the selected candidates was held during 12-28th February, 2018 and the result was published on 09.03.2018 and Chinmayee Chetana Dash had topped the list of the successful candidates.

The physical standards verification of the candidates was conducted by a Special Medical Board on 25.04.2018, stated the press note.
