Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s Housing and Urban Development department today organised an orientation programme for officers, officials and engineers of all 114 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State for successful implementation of ‘Mo Sarkar’ Initiative.
“Before the implementation of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative in Housing and Urban Development department, today, we have organised an orientation programme for executive officers, commissioners, planning members, secretaries, all junior engineers of Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) of all the 114 urban local bodies of the State,” informed Pratap Jena, Urban Development Minister.
Jena said that this is a preparatory meeting for the successful implementation of ‘Mo Sarkar’ Initiative in his department.
“Mo Sarkar has a lot of importance. It’s Chief Minister’s innovative approach to make available all services to the people of Odisha in a most effective and transparent manner within a limited time period. That’s why these steps are being taken,” the Minister explained.
He said under this initiative government employees will listen to any person visiting a government office for any work giving it the highest priority and make efforts for resolution of his/her problem/grievance/issue in a time-bound manner.
On being asked by reporters how they are going to monitor it, the Minister said that nodal officers will be appointed for the purpose and he himself, officers of the department will directly speak to the beneficiaries over the phone to get feedback from them.
The Minister informed that from January 1 next year ‘Mo Sarkar’ will be implemented in 360 field offices of Housing and Urban Development department.
