Cuttack: The Orissa High Court Bar Association has demanded action against Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of Bargarh Sadar Police Station for allegedly misbehaving with an advocate of Bargarh Bar Association.

Reportedly, IIC Kalyani Bagarti and SI Susma Pasayat had misbehaved with an advocate identified as Binaya Joshi. Following it, the Bargarh Bar Association had staged a dharna in front of the Bargarh SP office demanding her transfer.

Bargarh Bar Association president had apprised all bar associations across the State including the HC Bar about the incident and had called for a bandh. A general body meeting in this regard had been held at the High Court Bar Association.

After the meeting, High Court Bar Assocation Secretary Sanjay Kumar Das said the behaviour of the IIC is condemnable and the demands of the Bargarh Bar Association are just and legitimate. The DGP and concerned SP have been asked to take immediate legal action over the demands, he added.
