Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday ordered an SIT probe into the Kunduli gang rape case. As per reports, a division bench of Orissa High Court comprising Chief Justice K Javeri and Justice KR Mohapatra ordered court-monitored SIT probe into the case. According to sources, three DIG-ranked officers will lead the SIT.
The Kunduli gang rape caused furore in Odisha when the victim girl alleged that she was raped by four security personnel on October 10, 2017 inside the Kunduli forest, near Musaguda village in Koraput district.
The Orissa HC on August 3, 2019, had directed the State Government to take necessary steps to ensure the completion of the Kunduli rape and suicide case within four months. In this case, the victim committed suicide at her village Masaguda on January 22, 2019.
