Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court has declared its winter vacation, effective from December 25, marking today as the last working day of regular court sessions. The court will resume of full operations on Monday, January 5, 2026.
In a notification issued today, the High Court has also declared January 2, 2026 (Thursday) as a special holiday. In compensation, the court will function on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
According to the notification, a vacation bench will operate on December 30, 2025.
A vacation bench will operate on December 30, 2025, comprising Justice Sabitri Rath and Justice MS Raman, who will hear various cases. Additionally, Justice Savitri Rath, Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, and Justice M.S. Raman will sit on separate single benches to dispose of matters.
The court’s administrative office will remain operational from December 26 to 31, 2025, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. The computer filing counter for new cases will be open on working days from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.
For urgent matters, advocates can submit mention memos in the drop box at the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) office between 11:00 am and 12:00 noon on December 29, 2025.
This arrangement ensures continuity for urgent judicial matters during the holiday period.
