Bhubaneswar: IAS officer Dhiman Chakma, who was arrested by the Vigilance department in a bribery case, has been granted conditional bail by the Orissa High Court.
He was granted bail on a bond of Rs 5 lakh with two sureties. Dharmagarh Sub-Collector Dhiman Chakma’s bail application was earlier rejected by the Bhawanipatna District Vigilance Court. He then moved to the High Court seeking bail.
Chakma was arrested by the Vigilance department on June 8 for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a businessman at his government residence. The anti-graft agency had seized Rs 47,47,600 during a subsequent search of his official residence.
