Bhubaneswar: In a bid to promote eco-friendly Dussehra celebrations, the Orissa High Court has ruled against firecracker competition during Ravan Podi.

According to the Silver City’s most anticipated Dussehra event, Ravan Podi is set to undergo a transformative makeover. In a bid to minimize environmental impact, the Advocate Committee has suggested replacing traditional polluting and noise-making crackers with eco-friendly colour crackers.

The Orissa High Court has ordered the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and local administration to prepare the Bali Yatra ground for Ravan Podi celebrations by October 10. This directive ensures that the iconic event, part of the Dussehra celebrations in Cuttack, goes smoothly.

To facilitate a seamless experience, the Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has also been instructed to regulate traffic effectively, minimizing congestion and ensuring public safety.
