Bhubaneswar: In a significant ruling, the Orissa High Court on Friday scrapped the merit list of the examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for recruiting 796 Assistant Section Officers (ASO).
Hearing petitions alleging irregularities in the examination, the court ordered the commission to publish a fresh merit list within two months on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the written examination within two months.
The OPSC conducted the written examination to fill up 796 posts of Assistant Section Officers on August 27, 2022, and the results were published on November 7, 2022.
It is pertinent worth mentioning here that many candidates had moved the Orissa High Court alleging irregularities in the examination. The court interfered in the matter after the OPSC published a merit list of 1,104 aspirants.
