Jajpur: Masked and armed miscreants looted gold and diamond ornaments from a jewellery showroom in Jajpur on Monday.
According to reports, six armed miscreants were involved in the dacoity during which the entire stock was taken away. The incident took place in Vyasanagar.
Miscreants wielding guns entered the showroom and decamped with the ornaments after assaulting the employees. Two employees have been injured in the attack.
The miscreants had entered the showroom posing as customers. When some staff tried to resist the miscreants, they were brutally assaulted. Senior police officials, including Jajpur SP have reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
Senco Gold & Diamonds spokesperson said, “There was an unfortunate incident of robbery at our Jajpur franchisee showroom today. We are in touch with the police officials and authorities on the same and are confident that the culprits will be booked soon. The most important thing for us is that our employees are safe and sound and we appreciate their courage.”
