Bhubaneswar: The Sundargarh district administration has brought smiles to the faces of seven childless couples as they handed over their adopted children. The joyous moment was indescribable as the couples, who had been waiting for years, finally received their little ones.
Sachin Joshi and his wife from Pune, Maharashtra, were among the lucky couples. Despite 12 years of marriage and medical treatment, they had not been able to conceive. However, the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) gave them the fortune of becoming parents by handing over a baby girl.
Similarly, Madhurita from West Bengal expressed her happiness as she received her adopted child. The couple’s married life has been successful, and they feel their family is now complete.
In total, seven couples received their adopted children, comprising three boys and four girls, from the Disha Center, an orphanage in Bisra, Sundargarh district. The children were handed over in the presence of the Additional District Magistrate.
We had registered in 2021. After three and a half years, we received a referral. We got a baby girl. We are really overjoyed,” said Sachin Joshi from Pune.
Madhusmita Samantray of Balasore is inexpressibly happy after getting a baby boy. “It has been 14 years of our marriage. We had undergone all possible medical treatments, including IVF, but they failed. Finally, we had applied to CARA, and after four years, we got a baby. We can’t express our happiness,” she said.
CARA has been instrumental in giving new identities to orphaned children. Childless couples apply to CARA to adopt a child, and some have been waiting for as long as four to seven years. With the help of CARA, many childless couples have been given the opportunity to become parents, and orphans have found loving families.
