**Bhubaneswar:** Depositors and agents of Oscar chit fund firm belonging to Bharuch district in Gujarat on Sunday asked the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch to expedite the probe and help them in getting their hard-earned money back.
“I was working as an agent for Oscar firm and collected around Rs 84 lakh from people and had never received a single rupee. Like me, hundreds of agents have been suffering as depositors are putting pressure on us to their money ,” said an agent who was seen protesting here.
The duped depositors also submitted documents relating to the fraudulent activities of the company to the tune of Rs 11 crore which it had managed to collect from the people through attractive schemes with an assurance of hefty returns after opening five branches in Bharuch.
Notably, the Crime Branch, during its visit to Gujarat, had seized two CDs from the company’s office in Surat in which leading Ollywood actors including Uttam Mohanty and Papu Pom Pom were seen praising Oscar and urging the audience at the meetings to invest in the chit fund company.
