Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) has expressed concern over cases of kidnapping of children and child lifting in the State.
The Commission’s Chairperson Mandakini Kar on Friday issued a notice to Superintendents of Police of all districts to remain alert and take necessary steps to contain cases of kidnapping of children and child lifting.
Similarly, Kar has advised Childline and various voluntary organizations working in the field of child rights protection to keep a close watch at railway stations and bus terminuses.
City’s Badagada police on Friday arrested a woman in connection with the kidnapping of a minor girl while rescuing the victim from the Mancheswar area.
Kar has issued notice to Badagada police to submit a report on the minor girl’s health and mental condition apart from the reason behind the kidnapping.
