Bhubaneswar: An MoU was signed between Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.
The primary objective of the MoU is to facilitate training and capacity building, conducting first aid and mental health care among various stakeholders during a disaster.
Emphasis will be given to continuous improvement and mutual learning in the utilization of various knowledge and skills.
The two institutions agreed to increase research activities in areas related to mental health during disasters.
On behalf of the state government, Sushmita Behera, executive director of OSDMA and director of NIMHANS, Pratima Murthy signed the agreement in the meeting held in Bengaluru.
On this occasion, the registrar of the institute, Shankar Narayan Rao, Additional Professor Dr. Govind Majhi, Dr. Balshanti, Project Coordinator and State Project Officer of OSDMA Gaurishnak Mishra were present.
During the time of disaster, it is necessary to prepare mentally and physically to face the disaster and recover from the situation.
