Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has announced special package tours for the Konark Festival and International Sand Art Festival.
As part of the arrangements, AC buses will operate from Bhubaneswar and Puri to Konark, departing at 2:30 pm and returning by 11 pm.
The package tour includes visits to the Konark Sun Temple, Chandrabhaga Beach, and the Sand Art Festival. The cost of the tour is Rs 1840 per person from Bhubaneswar, Rs 1700 from Puri, and Rs 2360 from Cuttack.
Tourism Director Sarojkant Pradhan announced that the Sun Temple light and sound show will remain closed for five days during the Konark Festival to accommodate tourists.
The 36th Konark Festival and 15th International Sand Art Festival will take place from December 1 to 5, organised by the OTDC. The events will feature renowned artists showcasing classical dance performances, including Odissi, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Kathak, at the Konark Open-Air Auditorium.
Notably, the International Sand Art Festival will be held at Chandrabhaga Beach, with over 100 sand artists from India and abroad participating. To accommodate tourists, the Sun Temple’s light and sound show will remain closed for five days during the festival.
