Berhampur: Over 10 fishermen who had ventured into the sea, despite repeated warnings by the authorities, had to swim back to the shore to safety after their boats capsized in the sea near Chatrapur in Ganjam district.
On Monday morning, the fishermen on four boats from Arjyapalli in Chatrapur were returning after fishing. At around 2 pm, the sea suddenly became rough and their boats capsized.
The fishermen somehow managed to swim back to the shore and pulled back the boats with the help of other fishermen. However, they lost their catch and one of the boats was damaged. Some of them had received minor injuries.
