Over 10 Lakh Migrants Returned To Odisha During Lockdown

Bhubaneswar: As many as 10,07,330 migrant workers have returned to Odisha during the coronavirus-induced lockdown, informed Labour Minister Susanta Singh in the State Assembly on Tuesday.

In reply to a starred question of BJP MLA Mukesh Mahaling, the Labour Minister said that meanwhile, the Labour Directorate has contacted 1,00,535 migrant workers from Bolangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts through its helpline.

Among them, 3509 have returned to various States. 62,286 migrant workers are still present in the districts and 34,740 workers were not reachable due to the absence of contact numbers.
