Over 11,000 Cases Of Domestic Violence, Dowry Torture Reported To OSCW In Last 5 Yrs

Bhubaneswar: As many as 11,010 cases of domestic violence, dowry torture, etc have been reported to the Odisha State Commission for Women (OSCW) in the last five years, informed Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram in the State Assembly on Friday.

Replying to a query from Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, the Minister said that out of the 11010 cases reported with the OSCW, the Commission has adjudicated the matter in 8441 cases and given its verdict and 2569 cases are sub judice.
