Bhubaneswar: More than 13,000 individuals reported missing in Odisha remain untraced, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the State Assembly on Monday.
Responding to a question from Congress MLA Sofia Firdous, the Chief Minister provided data on missing person cases registered in the state since June 2024. He revealed that between June 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, a total of 20,060 missing person cases were reported. Of these, 7,048 individuals have been located, while 13,012 remain missing.
The government has assured that efforts are being intensified to trace the missing individuals. Law enforcement agencies are collaborating with multiple departments and utilizing advanced surveillance technology to track and rescue those yet to be found.
