Bhubaneswar: A total of 14,407 people have lost their lives in the last five years due to floods, cyclones, droughts, landslides, sun strokes, snakebites, landslides, drowning, boat capsizing, etc. in Odisha.
This was informed by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Pramila Mallik in the State Assembly on Thursday.
Mallik also said that the government has provided ex-gratia of Rs.57.31 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund to the families of 13,022 deceased persons.
