Sundargarh: More than 35 people fell ill in Sanindipur village under Koida block panchayat of Odisha’s Sundergarh district on Wednesday after having dasa bhoji and drinking water from a local well.
According to reports, most of the affected are suffering from diarrhea after eating a feast in the village’s Dasha Karma.
As the condition of all the affected is critical, they have been sent to Koida Group health center for treatment. Although the organisers of the dasa bhoji claimed that the water of the well was boiled to cleanse it of impurities before serving it to the people, it is believed that people fell ill after drinking the water from the well.
Meanwhile, a team has reached the village to collect water samples and the reason for the illness of such a large number of people can be ascertained only after testing the water samples, a doctor treating the patients said.
