Bhubaneswar: As many as 3,296 posts of constables, 1,254 posts of Sub Inspectors and 58 posts of Inspectors are lying vacant across 36 police districts of Odisha.
This was informed by Minister of State for Home Tusharkanti Behera in a written reply to a query by BJD legislator from Jayadev Arabinda Dhali in the Odisha Assembly today.
As per data shared by the MoS, as many as 226 posts of constables are vacant in Puri district followed by 185 in Cuttack UPD, 184 in Bhubaneswar UPD, 175 in Koraput and 150 in Ganjam.
Similarly, 88 posts of Sub Inspectors are vacant in Bhubaneswar UPD, followed by 80 in Mayurbhanj, 72 in Sambalpur, 69 in Cuttack UPD and 65 in Rourkela.
Besides, 8 posts of Inspectors are vacant in Bhubaneswar UPD, 6 each in Puri and Bhadrak, 4 in Angul and 3 each in Kandhamal and Subarnapur.
