Bhubaneswar: A total of 5,74,145 ration card holder families did not get Covid assistance given by the government in two phases.
Replying to a question by Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the Odisha Assembly, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said that in 2019-20 the number of ration card holder families in the State was 95,51,694 which is 95,85,766 now.
Out of them, 93,42,044 families received Covid assistance in the first phase and 92,21,271 families received Covid assistance in the second phase, the Minister added.
Therefore, 2,09,650 families were deprived of Covid assistance in the first phase.
Similarly, 3,64,495 families were deprived of Covid assistance in the second phase.
