Bhubaneswar: More than 60 brass figurines of Naga (Snake god) have been retrieved from river Mahanadi near Subarnapur Jatamundia bridge in Banki block of Cuttack district on Friday. Also, two figurines of Vrishabha (Shiva’s bull) have been retrieved from the same spot in the river.
According to reports, a few figurines of Naga got stuck in the nets of local fishermen who were catching fish in the river.
Later, when these fishermen further searched the river bed they retrieved over 60 figurines of Naga and two figurines of Vrishabha.
These Naga and Vrishabha figurines have been kept at the nearby Shiva temple and are being worshipped.
