Bhubaneswar: More than 94,000 voters used postal ballots to exercise their franchise till Phase III of the twin elections in Odisha. Differently-abled persons, senior citizens aged above 85 years, people engaged in emergency services, and government employees deputed on election duties used postal ballots to cast their votes.
As per information released by the office of the Chief Election Officer, Odisha, as many as 94,000 people used postal ballots to cast their votes till the end of Phase III of elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly in Odisha.
In addition, many elderly people aged 85 years and above also availed the facility of home voting, introduced in the state for the first time in this election. Some voters also cast their votes with the help of PVC and PBFC, the office of the CEO, Odisha, added.
