Bhubaneswar: Over 94% of new Covid-19 cases reported from the city in the last 24 hours are local contact cases.
According to the information shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) 86 out of the 91 new cases of Covid-19 reported from the city are local contact cases.
The remaining 05 cases are quarantine cases.
A higher number of local contact cases is a worrisome factor as the person has contracted the virus at the community level where tracing of contacts is not feasible unlike in quarantine cases.
The city has 753 active cases of Covid-19 and the cumulative total of Covid cases in the city is 123971.
A total of 93 persons have recovered from Covid-19 in the city during the last 24 hours.
The cumulative total of fatalities due to Covid in the city stands at 1100.
