Soro: Over five houses were gutted in a major fire that broke out in Nadigan panchayat under Soro police limits of Balasore district on Thursday night.
Reportedly, a house in the panchayat caught fire last night when all were fast asleep. The blaze gradually spread to nearby thatched houses.
Before anyone could take any action, the blaze engulfed the houses of Ramakant Mishra, Sushant Mishra, Lambodhar Panda and others destroying property worth lakhs of rupees.
On getting information, two fire engines from Soro reached the spot and doused the flames after one hour.
