Rayagada: A total of 1,01,23,380 rupees were found in the donation box of Maa Majhighariani Temple in Rayagada during the counting of the donations on Wednesday.
In addition, 104 grams of gold and 2,679 grams of silver ornaments, currencies of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Oman, and Qatar were also found as donations.
Security had been tightened in the temple for the counting of the donations. Members of some religious organizations and employees of Utkal Grameen Bank helped in counting the money.
The donation box had been opened last time in the month of March this year. It had received a donation of 75,88,405 rupees, 54.3 grams of gold and 2.06 kilograms of silver ornaments, and foreign currencies.
