Bhubaneswar: Police seized over Rs 24 lakh unaccounted cash during vehicle checking ahead of polls in two separate incidents in Odisha on Friday.
According to reports, police have seized Rs 20 lakh from a car during vehicle checking at Bhadrasahi Chhak under Barbil police limits in Keonjhar district. The cash was found stashed in two bags inside the car. While it is not clear to whom the cash belongs, the driver of the car has fled the spot.
Similarly, Nuapada police seized Rs 4.89 lakh from a van during vehicle checking near Sahipala check post on the Nuapada-Bargarh district border. The cash was seized during vehicle checking when the van was coming towards Nuapada from Bargarh district. Police have seized Rs 4.89 lakh cash from the van and have detained two persons. The detained persons are learnt to be from Khariar Road in Nuapada district.
