Over Rs 5.5 Lakh Fine Collected, 4 Arrested During Enforcement For Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar: A total of 5,59,200 rupees has been collected as fines and four persons were arrested during the enforcement activities in Bhubaneswar for the upcoming FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023.

In view of the Hockey World Cup, enforcement activities are being carried out during the evening and night in different Police Station areas of Bhubaneswar UPD.

A total of 140 fines amounting to Rs 70,000 have been imposed for Open Drinking; six fines amounting to Rs 700 imposed for Smoking in Public Place; 18 fines amounting to Rs 13,500 imposed under MV Act.

A total of 475.14 litres of ID and foreign liquor have been seized in three Excise Cases.

During enforcement by traffic police, 21 fines amounting to Rs 10,500 has been collected for illegal parking, and 450 fines amounting to Rs 4,64,500 has been collected under MV Act. Two Driving Licenses have been cancelled and 39 vehicles towed.
