Bhubaneswar: Acting tough against those involved in irregularities in paddy procurement, the Odisha government today suspended from service two officials of the Cooperation Department in Keonjhar district.
According to an official press release, the department has suspended Keonjhar Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies (DRCS) Pramod Kumar Bariha and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Parsuram Patra for their role in alleged irregularities in paddy procurement at Saharpada Large-sized Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Society (LAMPCS) in Keonjhar district during Kharif Marketing Season 2019-20.
The State government suspended the DRCS and ARCS following receipt of enquiry report from Keonjhar Collector over alleged irregularities in paddy procurement at Saharpada LAMPCS during last Kharif Marketing Season.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the Cooperation Department today. The suspension order has been immediately effected.
In addition to this, disciplinary proceedings has been initiated against the duo, the press release added quoting departmental sources.
