Bhubaneswar: The family of Prashant Satpathy, a victim of the Pahalgam terror attack, has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Police Station after discovering that money is being raised in his name on social media without their consent.
Prashant’s wife, Priyadarshini, expressed her disappointment and requested the public not to contribute to such fundraising efforts. Instead, she suggested that people observe a minute of silence in memory of her husband, whom she considers a national hero.
“I don’t need money for my husband. Just observe a minute of silence. The government should take concrete steps to ensure that no one else faces a similar situation,” Priyadarshini said.
The family has registered a case with the Cyber Police Station, and an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the unauthorised fundraising. Prashant’s brother also disapproved of the money collection, stating that they had not given anyone permission to do so.
The family has appealed to the public to refrain from contributing to such unauthorised fundraising efforts and instead support those in genuine financial need.
