Bhubaneswar: A Pakistani national, Nagma Yusuf, has left Bhubaneswar after receiving a ‘Leave India’ notice from the Commissionerate Police. She had been residing in the city since 2008 with her Indian husband, Mohammed Nizamuddin, on a long-term visa, in BJB Nagar area in the State Capital.
However, her visa expired in December, 2024, and her renewal application was rejected. Following this, she applied for permission to depart from India, which was approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs after the Pahalgam terror attack.
As part of the government’s crackdown, Nagma Yusuf was given 48 hours to leave the country. She departed Bhubaneswar, joining four other Pakistani nationals who had already left India.
The state government has initiated the process to deport the remaining eight Pakistani nationals residing in Odisha.
