Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was adjourned till 4.00 pm on Monday after opposition BJP and Congress members created a ruckus and stalled the proceedings over the alleged leak of the matric examination question paper.
Minutes after the House assembled for the day’s business this morning, BJP and Congress MLAs shouted slogans against the government over the alleged question paper leak as the matter had become viral on social media and demanded a probe into the issue.
They soon rushed to the well of the House and created a ruckus.
Proceedings of the House were paralyzed due to the pandemonium. Finding no other option to continue with the proceedings of the House, Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha adjourned the House till 4.00 pm.
Talking to the media outside the House, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash described the allegation regarding the question papers leak as false and fictitious. “There has been no such incident of question paper leak or the paper going viral. There was a printing mistake in the question paper today,” Das said.
On the other hand, BJP leader and Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi said that the minister’s statement was false. Manjhi demanded the resignation of Das for alleged mismanagement in conducting the matric examinations.
