Bhubaneswar: Bureaucrat turned politician and senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian took potshots at the BJP, especially Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan without taking his name on a range of issues while addressing election rallies at Padampur, Bijepur, Atabira and Bhatli.
Pandian said, the mammoth gathering at today’s rallies has shaken the confidence of the opposition. He accused the opposition of not doing anything neither allowing anyone to do.
Who can wake up a person who is pretending to be asleep keeping his eyes closed ? He asked.
Pandian charged the BJP for failing to double the MSP despite making promises in 2014 and 2019.
Similarly, they had promised to simplify crop insurance, have they? He asked.
He said, on the other hand, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has paid crop insurance premium to lessen the burden of farmers.
“Maa Samalei let good sense prevail on them. Let them not oppose development. Let them not oppose peoples’ work.”
Citing neighbouring state Chhattisgarh as an example, Pandian asked why is the engine changing frequently. Why is their engine losing steam? If a double engine is so good, why do people not trust it? Why Naxal problem is persisting there? He asked.
He said in Odisha the Chief Minister has done away with Naxal problem through development.
He said the CM is working 24 hours for the development of Odisha. During the tenure of Naveen Patnaik’s government development has reached all sections of the people. There has been empowerment. Naveen Government is the government of women, farmers and youth, he asserted.
Pandian warned that if the opposition comes to power they will stop all good work of Naveen government–Mission Shakti, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, MAMATA, LAccMI yojana, etc.
The BJD star campaigner stated that Naveen Patnaik gives a statement of the works done by his government for the benefit of the people. Does any other Chief Minister do so? He asked.
“On the CM’s instructions, I am here to give an account of the works done. Bheden has been made a NAC. Rs 2.6 cr has been given for Biseswar temple, Rs 1.4 cr has been given for Ramchandi temple, Rs 80 lakh has been given for Atabira Maa Durga temple, Rs 30 lakh has been given for development of tourism at Giri Gobardhan Peeth, and Rs 20 lakh has been given for Sunni Masjid, Rs 50 lakh has been given for Bhatli Durga temple, Rs 50 lakh for Alekh Mahima Peeth, Rs 4.60 cr for road and school at Ambabhona, Rs 1.80 cr for development of cave tourism, Rs 100 cr for Mahupali Mahanadi bridge, establishment of cancer hospital at Bargarh ” he stated.
