Bhubaneswar: Expenses incurred from the exchequer for whirlwind tours of former 5T Secretary VK Pandian are being investigated and action will be taken if any irregularities are found, informed Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
“Any Government officer whosoever he may be if he/she would have spent from the State exchequer our government is trying, it will be investigated and action will be taken. Odisha’s general public has seen Pandian’s uninterrupted tours across the State almost from February 2020 up to December 2023 and also could not digest it then. Our government under Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is committed to zero corruption. Agencies are already examining it. You have to wait a little,” said Jena responding to a question from reporters on Pandian’s whirlwind tours using helicopter.
Jena pointed out that no one can easily accept loot of crores of rupees from the State exchequer on the pretext of meeting people and serving them.
“There is a rule and circular who can use a helicopter or aircraft. Nobody would have questioned had he travelled in a bus or car,” Jena added.
