Koraput: Forest department staff on Tuesday while returning from patrolling inside Majhiguda forest in Baipariguda block of Koraput district rescued a pangolin while it was moving towards the village.
Baipariguda Forest Ranger Sandip Panigrahi has informed that the rescued pangolin underwent a medical examination at the local veterinary hospital.
The rescued pangolin which weighs around 9.5 kg will be released into the wild in a safe place following discussion with the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Panigrahi added.
