Panic Grips Passengers As Dhauli Express Belches Smoke At Soro

Soro: Panic gripped passengers of Dhauli Express after heavy smoke emanated as the train was about to approach Soro railway station. According to the railway authorities there was a break-binding situaion in  the D4 coach, 4 kms prior to Soro.

Few minutes laters there was a possible short-circuit in the battery of one of the coaches. And again this was followed by break-binding in D1 coach. On each occasion, smoke dissipated from the coaches spreading panic among the passengers.

The East Coast Railway authorities and train staff promptly attended the situation and controlled the smoke. "The train is heading at a slow speed now. At Balasore railway station engineers will undertake a thorogh inspection before it heads towards Howrah," an ECoR official said.
