Nuapada: Residents of Tariamohuabhata village in Sadar Block of Odisha’s Nuapada district are spending sleepless nights after a leopard attacked a calf and consumed it outside the village on Sunday night.
According to reports, a leopard entered the village last night and picked up a calf from one Human Naik’s house near Guhal. The leopard dragged its prey outside the village and devoured it, spreading panic among the villagers.
After the villagers complained in this regard, Forest department staff visited the village and launched an investigation, which revealed pug marks of the leopard.
According to the villagers, so far 10 domestic animals have been killed by leopards in the region. They have now demanded compensation for these domestic animals.
